The diet industry tells you to eat less, move more and act natural while doing it, wouldn’t it be nice if you had some real support?
You don’t need another perfectly perky Instagram personality telling you how many squats to do. You’ve been squatting the squats, doing the cardio, and drinking the green juice for years and not much has changed.
You want to stop eating when you’re not hungry. You want to stop the cycle of over-indulging followed by copious amounts of cardio and kale salad.
You’ve been muscling your way through the body battle for most of your life.
You have a bad day, so you reach for the ice cream... Your friends invite you to happy hour and you go for that second or third glass of wine... You make your way to the fridge for a midnight snack...
Then you’re frustrated because you’re bloated or your face is puffy or your pants don’t fit like they used to. Then you feel guilty and inadequate and ashamed. So you get back on the bandwagon—more exercise, less food, more vegetables, no bread, no cheese, and no wine.
Imagine easily returning to healthy habits after the occasional indulgence. Imagine being in control, satisfied, and feeling your best without—no dieting required. Imagine knowing exactly which foods keep you feeling satisfied and energetic and which foods don’t.
Imagine knowing what triggers you to overeat and being equipped to handle it with gentleness instead of guilt and punishment. Imagine a totally new perspective on food that eliminates guilt and shame. Imagine breaking the cycles you’ve been stuck in for so long. Imagine never again having to “exercise off” your “bad decisions.”
In this alternate universe (which is not quite as alternate as you think), a fat day is never an issue. You feel confident about what you put in and on your body. You feel free to choose between an apple and cookie—and whatever you choose, brings both pleasure and satisfaction.
It’s totally counter to everything you’ve ever been told, but you’re ready for a change, aren’t you?

I created Unrestricted because I know you don’t need another diet. What you need is a healthy relationship with food. You need to eat when you’re hungry. You need to eat what you truly want. You need to let go of all the stress surrounding eating.
I spent my much of teen years and all of my twenties flipping through People magazine and longing for the body of a Hollywood starlet.
I had a seriously messed up and deeply rooted belief that if I could just get the perfect body, everything else would fall into place.
I passed on luxurious vacations, because I didn’t want to be photographed in a bathing suit.
I bought discount dresses, thinking I should drop a dress size or two before splurging on the designer dress.
I stressed about running into high school classmates in my small town grocery store, for fear they would notice I no longer had the body of my youth.
And I believed all my issues with my body stemmed from my issues with food.
I was perpetually beating myself up over eating too much and exercising too little. There were entire seasons of my life where I tried crazy diets (I once ate nothing but diet cookies for two weeks) which caused me to lose weight quickly and then gain it right back.
I stepped off the dieting rollercoaster in favor of balanced meals and moderate exercise. But I felt defeated. I was resigned to the fact that my body was never going to look the way I wanted it to, but that didn’t make my situation any easier.
I didn’t know the stress of dieting and exercising was spiking certain hormones in my body, making it way harder to lose weight.
I didn’t know that what our bodies do with food differs from person to person and that the good ol’ calories in, calories out philosophy creates more problems than it solves.
I didn’t know that if your emotional and nutritional needs aren’t being met, willpower won’t be enough to keep you from decisions you’ll regret.

This is so different from what I have done my whole life. But the fact is, what I’ve done my whole life hasn’t worked. Erica’s approach has made me so much more mindful of what and when and why I eat and, in turn, I am experiencing more satisfaction with less food. The craziest part of it is that it was completely stress free. -Laura

Is the Introduction to the program and the Food Freedom Model, my signature combination of eating psychology, nutritional therapy, and The Desire Map.
We’ll uncover your food story. In this module we document your history and unearth your feelings about food, and identify the thoughts and beliefs that led to those feelings.
Is our first of three reality checks, in which we take a deep dive into our toxic thoughts, the stress they cause, and the habits we must develop to shift them.
In our second reality check, we compare the nutritional beliefs we’ve acquired over our lifetime to scientific evidence and your actual experiences with different macronutrients. This module lays the foundation for new–healthier—beliefs about food based on your actual experiences with it.
In our final reality check, we uncover your Core Desired Feelings, based on Danielle Laporte’s Desire Map, and how a lack of those feelings is fueling your disordered eating patterns, and what you can do about it.
We rewrite your food story noticing thought patterns, filtering them through the lens of your Core Desired Feelings and course correcting as often as needed, to establish thoughts grounded in self-acceptance and worthiness. This reduces stress, improves metabolism, and gets you results you never even knew you wanted.
We’re learning to eat like we mean it. This means we’re become aware of macronutrient balance, as well as all the other factors that affect digestion and metabolism—slowing down, eating rhythm, satisfaction, and more.
We’re creating our Desire Manifesto: this revolutionary method of goal setting empowers you to set goals for your body and your health based on how you want to feel.
In the final three weeks of this program, you’ll put systems in place to implement the information you’ve learned and the new food story you’ve written into your daily life—forever.
We'll have our final call, process your experiences, and discuss your next steps.
In just 16 weeks, you’ll clear up a lifetime worth of misunderstandings about food
and your body and have the tools to move towards a relationship that’s way easier and far less obsessive.
Instead, you can work on the stuff that’s really going to make a difference:
Stress has a huge physiological impact making it almost impossible to lose weight, even if you’re doing everything right. The craziest part is, we can be under a tremendous amount of stress and not even realize it—it’s that secret stress that holds us back the most.
Gone are the days of one-size fits all diets. Research shows we all have different nutritional needs and the only way to know what yours are is trial and error. Come dig into the details of what you’re eating and the impact it’s having on your system, and adjust accordingly.
Your thoughts affect you, even if you never say them aloud (probably even moreso if you never say them aloud). These thoughts create guilt and shame and stress, which wreaks havoc on physically and psychologically. Let’s identify your most toxic thoughts, and get rid of them.
When you eat matters a lot. By eating when your metabolism is at its best and by eating regular meals at regular intervals, you ensure you’re giving your body what it needs to manage your weight and energy levels naturally, no crazy diets or outrageous exercise routines necessary.
You’ll end the obsession with calorie counting, restriction, and the number on the scale
You’ll be in control of food instead of being consumed by it
You’ll choose to indulge when you know it’s worth it— no guilt or shame involved
You’ll be empowered to return to healthy habits after the occasional indulgence
