My friend recently threw a big mermaid-themed birthday bash. She had at least 50 people in and out of her house over the course of the night.

It was so fun and so swanky. There was veggie and fishy sushi, mermaid lemonade and kiss the girl cake.

It was the kind of party where you wake up the next day, see what a total disaster your house is and you don’t even care because it was so much fun.

Not even a week after the party, we were talking about how people connect over food and she said to me, “I obviously know that’s true, but I don’t know that I realized just how true it was until I threw that party this weekend.”

“I didn’t think people actually ate at parties”, she said to me.

While the notion of people not eating at a party with such beautiful food seemed absurd to me, I immediately recognized that she held this belief because she doesn’t eat at parties.

She doesn’t eat at parties because party food isn’t super healthy. She admittedly spends the party hungry and worried about drinking too much because she hasn’t eaten enough.

Seems like a waste of a perfectly good evening to me.

But I see it all the time, women become too consumed by what they are or are not consuming that they miss out on creating memories and instead they create stress.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

And I don’t want it to be this way for you. I want you to make a conscious decision to enjoy the food you want to enjoy so that you can enjoy the company of the people you’re surrounded with.

In all seriousness, if you find yourself consumed with what you’re consuming, I would love to hop on the phone this week and talk about it. Click here to book a complimentary call with me.
